Photoshop: Deep Dive into Understanding Layers and Masks: Learn my processing secrets!
Skill level: Intermediate
Proficiency with layers and masks is such an important part of using Photoshop and I always feel that it is the “heart and soul” of what makes Photoshop such a powerful imaging editor.
During this class, you will learn how and when to use layers and masks in Photoshop and some the editing tips and tricks that I use when I process my images in Photoshop. This is one of my most popular classes and one of my favorites because you are going to be amazed at how powerful layers can be and (hopefully!) how simple they are to use once you understand “the basics”.
During class I will cover:
• The different types of layers in Photoshop and how to use them
• How to use layer masks to edit images selectively
• How to work with color using adjustment layers and color fill layers
• Shaping and working with light
• Using blend modes with layers
I will be teaching this class using Photoshop CC 2020. This workshop will be an intensive, hands-on class and I will supply practice files for everyone to work with on a thumb drive. I will provide by a step-by-step demonstration and we will work on files together.
I will also provide complete set of notes on everything that is covered to all participants after class so there will be no need to take notes.
Class Prerequisites: This is not an “Intro to Photoshop class” and therefore this class assumes students are familiar with Photoshop, including how to open and access files, how to navigate the program, etc. Students should have a recent version of Photoshop already installed and working properly as there won’t be time during class to load software or to do any troubleshooting with software that isn’t working properly.
Basic computer skills are required.
