Join us as we travel to Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge. Mt. Auburn Cemetery was created in 1831 as a rural cemetery and experimental garden. The grounds are beautifully groomed and should be flowering in June.
More than 95,000 individuals are buried and commemorated at Mount Auburn. We honor the lives and legacies of all those now resting at the Cemetery who have helped to shape the world in which we live. Writers, educators, reformers, artists, scientists and inventors are among those whose influence can still be seen throughout Boston, the New England region, nationally, and even internationally.
Mt. Auburn is also an important green oasis in the city for wildlife, including migrating birds.
