FAQs

Who can enter a Photo and what is the fee?
Any paid member of the Duxbury Camera Club can enter a photo into the exhibit. There are NO FEES to enter.

How many photos can I enter into the show?
Initially, everyone is only allowed to enter 1 photo into the show. However, if after the deadline, we have not received sufficient entries to fill the venue, you might be asked to submit an additional entry.

How do I enter?
Send an email to the Show Chairman, Tom Mackin by April 15th,. The email should contain your full name, the title of the photo, and the selling price, or NFS (not for sale). You should also attach a web sized JPG image file (< 2MG) of the one photo you would like to enter. You can email Tom Mackin by clicking on his name, here on this web page, or by going to the ABOUT US->CLUB CONTACTS menu option on the club’s website at http://www.duxburycameraclub.org

What about Matting and Framing?
So that the public can easily see and enjoy your photo on the exhibition wall, you are encouraged to go as big as you can. However, there is a print size limit of 20” x 24” for this exhibit. All printed photos must be under a white mat (or off-white) and all frames must be black. (If you have printed your photo on metal, or canvas, you are exempt from a mat and frame). All frames (or metal/canvas prints) must be wired and ready for hanging. (Note: If you wish to borrow a black frame for the event from other members, please let Tom know and he will hook you up with a loaner frame, as long as supplies last.)

Where can I go to get a nice quality print made up?
For an exhibition, you generally want to have a large high quality print. If you do not have your own high quality printer that can make prints larger than an 8x10, here are the names of some local high quality print shops. At many of these shops, you can ask for a 5x7 test print, for your review, before you have the larger image printed up.

Where can I go to get Mats and Frames?
Michaels Craft Stores
Michaels carries a diverse selection of black frames and precut white mats. They can also custom cut mats (or frames) to fit your needs. Go online to get their coupons before you go.

Frame Center (Hanover)
Many members go to the Frame Center for custom matting and framing. They too have a diverse selection of frames on their second floor.

Frame Destination (Online Only)
Many members also use this online store for their frames and mats due to low pricing for great quality products. Although this might be your cheapest option, you must give yourself enough lead time in order to receive your mat and frame for an exhibit.
